Buddy Rogers - WWE Wrestling Champions

Herman Gustav Rohde Jr. was born on February 20, 1921 in Camden, New Jersey.
Herman was better known by his ringname Buddy Rogers, the original "Nature Boy".
Ric Flair later adopted the "Nature Boy" name, the Figure-Four Leglock and even the Buddy Rogers strut as a tribute to him.
Buddy held more titles than you can shake a stick at including being the first WWWF World Heavyweight Champion, that title being carried down to present day as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

When Chyna Was Everywhere

Remember when WWF/WWE Diva Chyna was literally everywhere?
The WCW had Asya, but she never attained the popularity of Chyna.
Chyna was in magazines, on the covers of magazines and on TV, besides being in the WWE.
I remember that she had a reoccurring role on "3rd Rock From The Sun".
And Chyna also appeared on the cover and inside of a lot of fitness magazines as well.

You have to wonder what would have happened if the WCW's Christi Wolf aka Asya had met Chyna in the ring.

Kane and Tori - WWE

1998, when Kane formed a tag team with X-Pac and had a girlfriend...Tori.
Remember when he spoke only through the electrolarynx?
Then he could talk?
In 2000, Tori finally betrayed Kane and joined X-Pac and DX.

The Undertaker Playing Basketball

Yep.
That is the Undertaker, the Deadman, Mark Calaway number 33 playing basketball at Texas Wesleyan University during the 1985 - 1986 season.

And here he is before that at Waltrip High School in Houston Texas in 1983.
Interestingly, that is the same high school that Patrick Swayze went to, although he graduated before the Deadman's time there.

RIP Roddy Piper

He was one of a kind and he will be missed.
Rowdy Roddy Piper was a great wrestler and a great actor.
You could see how good of an actor he was just watching his ring persona.
He could go from laughing maniacally to quiet and calm in the blink of an eye.
If "artist" ever fit a wrestler, Roddy was one of those few.

RIP Roddy Piper

The Four Horsemen - NWA and WCW

You know I had forgotten just how many people had been in the Four Horsemen and how many incarnations there were.

The original group was Ric Flair, Arn and Ole Anderson and Tully Blanchard with James J. Dillon as their manager way back in 1986.
They broke Dusty Rhodes' ankle and hand, broke Ricky Morton's nose, injured Nikita Koloff's neck and held most of the titles in the NWA at one time or another.

Over the years, the group changed with only Ric Flair and Arn Anderson being the two constants.
Lex Luger, Barry Windham, Sting, Sid Vicious, Paul Roma, Brian Pillman, Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Curt Hennig, Jeff Jarrett (maybe) and Dean Malenko were all members at one time or another.
Arn said that Jarrett never was "really" a Horseman.

In 2014, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, and J.J. Dillon were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Madusa - WCW Wrestling

Debrah Anne Miceli aka Madusa aka Alundra Blayze, probably one of the best female wrestlers to ever grace a ring.

Madusa worked for World Championship Wrestling from 1991 to 1993 then after a brief stint in the WWF, from 1995 to 2001.

She won the Pro Wrestling Illustrated PWI Rookie of the Year award in 1988, in  All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling she held the IWA World Women's Championship twice, the Tag League the Best with Mitsuko Nishiwaki, the American Wrestling Association's AWA World Women's Championship, the International World Class Championship Wrestling IWCCW Women's Championship, the World Championship Wrestling's WCW Cruiserweight Championship and the World Wrestling Federation's WWF Women's Championship three times.

WCW - Christi Wolf aka Asya

Another very popular WCW personality here on this blog is Asya or bodybuilder, model and former professional wrestler, Christi Wolf.
She appeared in WCW as "The Head Nurse", "Double D" and finally "Asya", meaning that Asya was bigger than Chyna because "Asia" is bigger than "China".
Get it?
Well she was quite a bit bigger than Chyna even without the bad puns.
She was with the WCW from March of 1999 to March of 2000.

Ric Flair Back in the Day

As Ric Flair, Richard Morgan Fliehr has been kicking butt and taking names since 1972.
Yes...it has been that long.

Ric had a lot of coincidences that led him to wrestling.
When he was young, he met the legendary Vachon brothers.
He went to the University of Minnesota where he played football alongside Greg Gagne, the son of Verne Gagne.

Then he met Olympic weightlifter Ken Patera, who talked him into going to Verne Gagne's wrestling school.
There, Ric trained beside Greg Gagne, Jim Brunzell, the Iron Sheik, and Patera.

Starting out, Ric wrestled in the American Wrestling Association, where he got ring time with wrestling greats like Dusty Rhodes, André the Giant, Larry Hennig, and Wahoo McDaniel.
Not a bad start huh?

Kevin Thorn and Ariel - WWE Vampires

Since tomorrow is Halloween...here are the best vampires ever in the WWE, Kevin Thorn and Ariel!

Okay...really the best Vampires might have been Gangrel and the Brood (aka Christian and Edge...remember that?) but I have a better picture of Kevin and Ariel.

Actually Kevin, Gangrel and Ariel were supposed to be a faction on ECW, but it never materialized.

Kevin was released from his WWE contract in 2009 and went on to work for wrestling promotions like One Pro Wrestling, Dynamic Pro Wrestling, German Stampede Wrestling and Frontier Elite Wrestling.

Ariel (Shelly Martinez) was released after Kevin in 2007 and went on to TNA as "Salinas". After that she wrestled for the Perros del Mal promotion in Mexico, the World Independent Ladies Division Wrestling and is part of the World Wrestling Fan Xperience (WWFX) Champions Showcase Tour. Along with Raven, and Cheerleader Melissa she appeared in the music video for the Smashing Pumpkins' song "Owata".

WCW, Tom Brandi

Tom Brandi is a pro wrestler better know for his work in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) as Salvatore Sincere.
He is also know for his current work as The Patriot, working for wrestling promotions such as Pro-Wrestling WORLD-1, National Wrestling Superstars, and other independent wrestling promotions on the East Coast.
But before Tom showed up in the WWF as Salvatore Sincere, he worked for WCW as Johnny Gunn.
There he was pretty successful as one half of a tag team with "Z-Man" Tom Zenk.

Although he never held any titles in WCW, he did hold the AWA Superstars of Wrestling World Tag Team Championship with Buff Bagwell, the Eastern Championship Wrestling (ECW) Tag Team Championship with Tommy Dreamer, the Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South (IWA) Heavyweight Championship, the International World Class Championship Wrestling (IWCCW) Tag Team Championship with King Mike Kaluah, the IWCCW Television Championship, and the NWA 2000 NWA National Heavyweight Championship.
